Cornerstone Quest

The Cornerstone Quest Achievement Centre is set on the shore of Llyn Celyn in the Snowdonia National Park. Only 7 miles from Bala and 25 miles from Porthmadog, it combines easy access to local activity providers and entertainment, with the peaceful surroundings needed for a restful break.

We have two houses on site which can be booked seperately or together:

A modernised farmhouse, sleeping 18 people in five bedrooms.
Celyn House, a barn conversion, sleeping 16 people in five bedrooms.

Both houses offer a homely atmosphere with gas central heating and fully equipped self-catering kitchens. Many rooms have beautiful views over the lake.

We also provide:
A games room
Comfortable lounges
A meeting room for up to 35 poeple.
DVD and video players
OHP screen and flipcharts
A large BBQ

15 acres of the site has been designated for conservation. the natral grasslands and wetlands are being maintained to encourage biodiversity and provide a safe habitat for plants and animals. there are four nature trails around the interesting features of the site.

Cornerstone Quest is open all year to any group wanting to enjoy time away in the beauty of the Snowdonia National Park.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a typical country building with outhouses, surrounded by 40 acres of highland grasslands. It is 100m from the shores of Llyn Celyn, and accessed via an old railway track about 2 miles off the main road.

The Farmhouse has a five rooms sleeping between two and four people, a comfortable lounge, kitchen and two bathrooms. There is also access to the games room, meeting room fro 35 people and a drying room.

Celyn House is a barn conversion sleeping up to 16 people in four bedrooms of two to six. It has a dining area and fully self catering kitchen, along with the meeting room, games room and drying room, as before.

How to find Cornerstone Quest

Directions begin from Bala Town...

From Bala take the A4212 Twawsfynydd road.

After half a mile, fork left into a minor road signed Rhyduchaf and Llidiardau.

Follow the road for about five miles and after the second cattle grid continue 1/4 of a mile (passing Bryn Ifan Cottage) and take the first right turn.

The stony road will quickly swing right and down what was once a railway track cutting.
After about 1/4 of a mile you will see the gate for Quest on the left - it is marked Cornerstone.

Go through two gates, remembering to close them after you and you will see the Farm House and Celyn House beyond.
