The Cornerstone Family Centre in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfeld, was established in the community over 23 years ago. It was a thriving and friendly meeting place, attracting many people for a drink or light meal.
Recently it was used for 'Cornerstone Kids' a new and as-new shop for babies and toddlers clothes and equipment. The Coffee shop was closed at the end of June due to the recession causing a shortfall too great for Cornerstone to sustain. It was with great sadness that we had to leave this wonderful ministry.

However some of its ministry continues:
The centre is a base for the Cornerstone Vesey Home Link Project, which supports older people in the community, We know that many older people live on their own and feel isolated and lonely. We are working, together with local churches, to send volunteers out to befriend and include people who are lonely. Not only can we help with jobs that have become too difficult with age, but we can guide people to local services that will help them. We hope to be a friendly face to people who just need someone to talk to. We are aiming to reach up to 40 people in the Boldmere and Banners Gate areas.

We are very grateful to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Lloyds TSB Foundation for supporting this new project.
