Vesey HomeLink Project
Vesey Homelink is a project seeking to befriend up to forty older people in the Vesey Ward of Sutton Coldfield. By mobilising volunteers from the local community, we believe we can help house-bound older people feel valued and reduce the feeling of isolation they often feel. Even if they are visited just one hour per week, we have already found that this can be a value point of contact and friendship, for both our members and our befrienders!
The project was launched on 12th January 2008 and is a unique partnership between Cornerstone and five local churches in the Vesey ward. We are delighted to be sharing and resourcing this enthusiastic group to release their vision for thie community.
We would like to thank the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Lloyds TSB Foundation for helping to fund this project.
For more information, or if you would like to volunteer, or know someone who would appreciate a visit from a befriender in this area, please contact: 0121 354 5040 or vhl@cornerstone.uk.com.
